Bring a pot of water to a boil over high heat. Strain broth into a bowl to reserve. Add the chicken to the vegetables and continue stir frying. Filipino pancit as a recipe is a little confusing, as it is the name of the dish and also one of the ingredients.

The ingredients needed to make Filipino pancit:
  1. Make ready 2 c fresh green bean (cut approx 1/2")
  2. Take 1 c shredded carrots
  3. Take 2 c cabbage
  4. Prepare 2 c celery (sliced)
  5. Get Half medium yellow onion (sliced)
  6. Make ready 4 cloves garlic cloves (minced)
  7. Get 1/4 c soy sauce
  8. Prepare 1 lb Boneless skinless Chicken thighs (cut into bite size pcs)
  9. Take 32 oz organic chicken broth
  10. Prepare 4 pkgs bean vermicelli
  11. Get 8 oz rice stick (rice noodles)

Cook until cabbage begins to soften. And this first post is the story, in pictures, of Filipino Pancit. Pancit Canton, Pancit Bihon, an Bam-i are all varieties of a stir-fried noodle dish that make for some very happy birthdays at CSC. Steps to make Filipino pancit:
  1. Drizzle olive oil into a medium or large size pan on med heat; then saute chicken until it's white (approx 2 min). Set aside.
  2. Clean same pan used for chicken. Drizzle olive oil into pan then saute onions for about a minute then add the garlic until fragrant (approx 30 sec).
  3. Add celery and carrots for about 5 min.
  4. Add green beans and cabbage and cook for another 5 min.
  5. Lower the heat to simmer for the next 20 min.
  6. While the vegetables are simmering, boil approx 2 qts of water in a large pot. Place rice sticks in the boiling water for 3 min. Remove from boiling water and placing in the simmering vegetables.
  7. Place bean vermicelli in boiling water for 3 min. Then drain and place in simmering vegetables.
  8. Gradually add 32 oz of chicken broth to the vegetables and noodles while it continues to simmer to allow for the noodles to slowly absorb.
  9. Add the cooked chicken that was set aside and mix well.
  10. Constantly mix well until the rest of the ingredients are cooked (approximately another 10 min).

Pancit Canton, Pancit Bihon, an Bam-i are all varieties of a stir-fried noodle dish that make for some very happy birthdays at CSC. As I mentioned earlier, my favorite Filipino Pancit recipe is called Pancit Bihon and it's made with Bihon rice noodles, sometimes called "Rice Sticks." It's a very thin vermicelli noodle made from finely ground rice, just as you would use flour, a ground wheat. This gives them a very light and fresh taste and texture. Pancit Molo is a filipino recipe that makes you wonder why it was called pansit for term "pancit" or "pansit" means noodles but actually the dish didn't use any ingredient of noodles in it's recipe because it uses either wonton, soimai or molo wrappers.
