  11. Make ready 1 tsp cornstarch mixed wit h 2 Tbsp water

This recipe works well because the sweetness of mirin perfectly complements You may also add cooked minced meat if you are craving for something meaty, but please keep in mind that doing so may boost the calorie content of the dish. While tofu is steaming, prepare the sauce. In a wok heat a small amount of oil. Add the minced pork, dried shrimps, chilli bean paste and garlic then stir fry until fat starts to render.

Instructions to make Ground Meat Steam Tofu:
  1. Soak dried shrimps in hot water for 10 minutes. Drained. - Cut the dried shrimps into small pieces.
  2. Steam silken tofu for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat. Place it on the serving plate.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil on a wok over medium-high heat. Sauté garlic, dried shrimps, and red chili pepper until fragrant.
  4. Add minced meat. Cook until the meat changes color.
  5. Add oyster sauce, soy sauce, salt, white pepper powder, and water. Cook until boiling.
  6. Add cornstarch mixture. Keep stirring until the sauce is thickened.
  7. Add green onions and sesame oil. Stir for a while. Remove from the heat.
  8. Pour the ground beef mixture on top of the tofu.
  9. Serve with warm white rice! 😋

Turn the steamer off, remove tofu from the steamer, pour meat sauce on top of tofu then serve. Easy and flavorful Steamed Tofu with Ground Pork, featuring smooth silken tofu and juicy meat.
