The ingredients needed to make Oxtail stew:
  1. Take 1000 g oxtail pieces
  2. Make ready 1 medium yellow onion
  3. Take 3/4 can tomatoes
  4. Prepare 3 cloves garlic
  5. Take 1 tblspn tomato paste
  6. Prepare 5 cups water
  7. Get 3 tblspn sunflower oil
  8. Get 3 tspn steak and chops spice
  9. Take 1 tspn pepper
  10. Get to taste Salt
  11. Take Parsley to garnish

Photography Credit: Elise Bauer Have you ever had oxtails? Rinse oxtails and dry well with paper towels. Heat a small amount of vegetable oil in a large heavy stewing pot. Brown oxtail pieces in small batches, adding more oil to the pan between batches if necessary.

Steps to make Oxtail stew:
  1. Put the oxtail pieces in a pot,add water, add salt, and bring to boil until all the water is reduced.,
  2. Next add oil, pepper and steak and chops spice and fry the meat. Cook for 5 minutes
  3. Add garlic and onions fry until softened
  4. Next add tomatoes, reduce the heat. Cook for 5 to 8 minutes and set aside to serve

Heat a small amount of vegetable oil in a large heavy stewing pot. Brown oxtail pieces in small batches, adding more oil to the pan between batches if necessary. Hold browned pieces on the side. Add the onions to the pot and brown slowly. Uncover and remove pot from heat.
