Pretzel Bites is one of the most popular of current trending foods on earth. It is easy, it’s fast, it tastes yummy. It’s enjoyed by millions daily. Pretzel Bites is something which I’ve loved my entire life. They’re nice and they look wonderful.

Add your favorite toppings: salt, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, dried shallots, dried onions, etc. before baking. Serve with cheese sauce or any dipping sauce of your choice. Place the bites into the solution, gently swish them around, and leave them there for a couple of minutes. Transfer them to a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet, and top with pretzel salt or sea salt; or with pearl sugar, for sweet pretzel bites.

The ingredients needed to make Pretzel Bites:
  1. Take 1 1/2 cups warm water
  2. Take 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  3. Take 1 pkg. active dry yeast

  6. Make ready 4 1/2 cups flour
  7. Take 1/2 cup baking soda

Brush the tops with the egg wash and season liberally with the salt. These pretzel bites are crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside, and they don't require lye. We also have a recipe for a spicy cheese dip to serve on the side. So is Bubble Bread (we're amazed, honestly).

Steps to make Pretzel Bites:
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Combine warm water, sugar, yeast and butter in mixer and stir to combine. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Add salt and flour and mix on low until combined. Continue mixing on medium until smooth and starts to pull away from sides of the bowl.
  4. Place on a clean flat surface dusted with flour and knead into a dough ball.
  5. Place in a large oiled bowl and turn to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit in a warm place for 1 hour to rise.
  6. Once dough has risen remove from bowl and turn out on floured surface again. Separate into 8 dough balls.
  7. Roll out each ball into a long rope approx. 22 inches long.
  8. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife cut into bite size pieces about and inch or so in length.
  9. Boil a large pot of water, about 3 quarts and add baking soda. Drop pieces into boil for 30 seconds. Do this in batches of 15 pieces each.
  10. Meanwhile, place egg mixture by greased baking sheet.
  11. Remove the boiled pretzels from water with a slotted spoon and place on baking sheet. Brush each with a light coating of egg wash and top with sea salt.
  12. Place in oven and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  13. Allow to cool on sheet for about 10 minutes before removing. Store in air tight container until ready to serve. Enjoy!
